Festive party food but make it local.
.
Following on with my #seasonal food posts in collaboration with @robinsonsiom who kindly #gifted me items to show you just how easy it is to get everything you need from them this Christmas time 🇮🇲️.
.
On Sunday I made a puff pastry Christmas tree with ready rolled puff pastry sheets with pesto spread between 2 sheets. Cut into a tree shape and slits down each side and twisted to make the branches (see stories) and cut a star out of the cut offs, bake for 20 mins at 220c 🏻
.
I then used fresh veggies to make a Christmas tree of crudités to dip in hummus and guacamole 🏻
.
I also used ready rolled puff pastry and sausage meat from manx sausages to make sausage rolls.
.
* Heat the oven to 200c
* Blend 400g of sausagemeat in a food processor with a big squeeze of garlic purée, salt and black pepper, tsp of dried sage and 50ml water.
.
* Unroll the pastry onto a board and cut in half lengthways.
.
* Divide the sausage mixture in two and spread along the length of each pastry strip in a cylinder shape, leaving a 1cm edge.
.
* Tightly roll the pastry around the sausagemeat and brush the ends with the beaten egg to secure.
.
* Cut each roll into 10 pieces and Brush more beaten egg all over the pastry. Cook for 25-35 mins until the pastry is puffed and crisp and the meat has cooked through.
.
I used @closeleecefarm streaky bacon to wrap around manx chipolatas to make pigs in blankets. (Secure each sausage with a cocktail stick and bake at 190c for 30-35 mins)
.
Make sure you head up today and get everything you need for a truly tasty Christmas – remember ‘don’t let the legs fall off, shop local’
